What is the transmission path and function of the fuel supply system of a diesel engine?

The diesel engine fuel supply system consists of various components and a specific transmission path for delivering fuel to the engine.

1.Fuel Tank: The fuel tank is the primary storage for diesel fuel.

2.Fuel Pump: The fuel pump is responsible for drawing fuel from the tank and delivering it to the engine. It can be either a mechanical or an electric pump.

3.Fuel Filter: The fuel filter removes impurities and contaminants from the fuel before it reaches the engine. It helps maintain the cleanliness of the fuel system and prevents damage to the injectors and other components.

4.Fuel Lines: The fuel pump sends the filtered fuel through a series of fuel lines to the engine. These lines are typically made of steel or high-pressure rubber and are designed to withstand the pressure and heat generated by the system.

5.Fuel Injectors: The fuel lines deliver the fuel to the fuel injectors, which are responsible for spraying the fuel into the combustion chamber. The injectors are usually located near the intake valves and are electronically controlled to precisely regulate the fuel flow.

6.Injection Pump: In some diesel engines, the fuel injector nozzles are connected to a centrally located injection pump. This pump delivers high-pressure fuel to each injector at the correct time and in the right amount, ensuring efficient combustion.

7.Return Line: After the fuel has been injected into the combustion chamber, any excess fuel is returned to the fuel tank through a return line. This helps maintain the desired fuel pressure in the system.

8.Fuel Pressure Regulator: The fuel pressure regulator is responsible for maintaining a consistent fuel pressure throughout the system. It ensures that the fuel is delivered at the proper pressure to the injectors.

Overall, the fuel supply system in a diesel engine follows a path from the fuel tank to the fuel pump, through the fuel filter and lines, to the injectors, and finally to the combustion chamber. This system ensures a reliable and efficient delivery of fuel for the engine's operation.
